Thanks, for a great ROSCon 2023

We are back from a great few days at ROSCon 2023. Here is what we were up to

Last week we attended ROSCon 2023, and we can not wait to share some of the highlights with you. But first a huge shoutout to Open Robotics and the entire ROS community for making this event possible.

The Workshop day was attended by about 250 people and covered a deep dive into some of the ROS tools.

The first full day of the conference was opened by some of the key community players with updates on ROS and its adoption. We want to thank Tully Foote for moderating a great panel discussion on “Why ROS”. A really interesting discussions where he invited our CEO and Founder Christine Fraser to participate alongside  Alberto Soragna from iRobot , Sabine Hauert from University of Bristol and Christian Henkel from Bosch. It was great to bring the Startup perspective to the ROS Con audience.

There were a number of great talks throughout the day, but we spent a lot of time also on our Booth in the Open Robotics first ever Start up Alley, It was great to be able to support the event, even at our scale.  We want to extend our gratitude to each and every one who had a personal conversation with us. It’s these informal interactions that often lead to some of the most insightful discussions.

Towards the end of the day I was delighted to hear that we were selected as one of the lightning talks. A strict 2min talk on your ROS projects. You have to have been there to know if I managed to beat the buzzer or not!!

The final day of ROSCon was packed with intriguing talks that left us buzzing with inspiration.

The Simulation Breakout session was a standout, and we must say, our Veronika Bojtár had us all captivated with her discussion on the multi-drone project. The way technology is evolving in the world of robotics is truly mind-blowing!

As we strolled through the bustling exhibition area, we found ourselves engaged in fantastic conversations with ROS and robotics enthusiasts from over 42 countries. It was amazing to hear about the challenges they’re facing and how they’re pushing the boundaries in the field. We were even fortunate enough to be invited to showcase the Asimovo platform in the product demo area. It’s always a thrill to see our work in action and connect with others who share our passion.

The last day of the conference concluded with a thought-provoking panel discussion that delved into the intricacies of scaling robots and overcoming the hurdles that often come our way. These conversations are what make events like ROSCon so valuable – the opportunity to learn from others and exchange ideas on overcoming obstacles.

And, of course, a big thanks to New Orleans for the warm and welcoming atmosphere that provided the backdrop for this fantastic event. It’s not just the tech, but the people and places that make conferences like these unforgettable.
