Showcasing Entrepreneurship at ICRA 2024 – What’s the Latest in Robotics
The 2024 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA2024) is the IEEE RAS’s flagship conference. The conference will be held from May 13th to 17th, 2024, in Yokohama, Japan. This year’s conference theme is “CONNECT+,” reflecting the conference’s aim of helping to build relationships and potential collaborations with participants within and outside their field of study.
The port city of Yokohama is the symbol of Japan’s opening to the outside world, and ICRA2024 will become the symbol of Robotics’ opening to the new society with many other fields. ICRA brings together robotics researchers, students and industrial partners from around the world to discuss the latest innovations and breakthroughs, highlighting the role of robotics and automation in addressing global challenges.
Last year at ICRA2023 in London Asimovo had a small booth in the exhibition area. However this year we are going in a different capacity. Our CEO and Founder Christine Fraser is now part of the IEEE RAS Industry Activities Board and will be leading some of the program events.
Following on from the Entrepreneurship exchanges that happened at ICRA 2023, IROS2023 and Rotterdam in February 2024 Christine will be leading the Entrepreneurship activities at ICRA 2024. The activities include:
IAB Entrepreneurship Workshop – from 14.00-15.30 on Wednesday 15th May
IAB Entrepreneurship mentor office hours – from 15.00-17.00 on Wednesday 15th May, at the IEEE RAS booth
IAB Entrepreneurship mentor office hours – from 10.00-12.00 on Thursday 16th May, at the IEEE RAS booth
In addition Christine will also be one of the Judges of the Entrepreneurship Competition, with winners being announced at the show on Thursday. More information will be given on all of these events, and other IAB events, at the ICRA2024 Town Hall that will take place on Tuesday 14th May
The ICRA 2024 week in Japan will be filled with plenary and keynote sessions, contributed paper sessions, workshops and tutorial sessions, forums, expo and exhibitions from our corporate partners, robot competitions and numerous social events.

In the way that ICRA2024 is being hosted by Japans most famous Port City – Yokohama. Rotterdam will be the home to ICRA@40. The 40th anniversary of this IEEE event, that will take place later this year in September, in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Planning for that event will also be taking place, and more details will be announced in due course.
For those not familiar with IEEE RAS – here is a quick summary: The IEEE is the worlds largest professional association and IEEE RAS is a sub-section with a Mission is to foster the development and facilitate the exchange of scientific and technological knowledge in Robotics and Automation that benefits members, the profession and humanity.
The IEEE Robotics and Automation Society’s objectives are scientific, literary and educational in character. The Society strives for the advancement of the theory and practice of robotics and automation engineering and science and of the allied arts and sciences, and for the maintenance of high professional standards among its members, all in consonance with the Constitution and Bylaws of the IEEE and with special attention to such aims within the Field of Interest of the Society.
